About Us

The mission of the Idaho Kratom Association is to keep kratom safe and legal in the State of Idaho. We are here to build a coalition of kratom users and distributors. Our goal is to encourage good manufacturing practices within the industry, including lab testing of kratom to guarantee it is free of contaminants before it hits the shelves.

While kratom remains legal in Idaho, a small number of states have banned the sale of the product due in no small part to fear-mongering tactics of prohibitionists. We are taking a proactive stance to educate lawmakers and stakeholders within Idaho on the benefits of kratom. Science and fact are on our side.

  • 115 Americans die daily from Opioids — That’s 1 death every 12 minutes.
  • Kratom is a plant, not synthetic.
  • Kratom has been used for centuries in Southeast Asia.
  • Kratom is generally consumed as a tea or in juice. It is not injected or smoked.
  • Plain Leaf Kratom has limited recreational value and can function as an alternative to Rx drugs for people who need pain relief on a daily basis.
  • At least 50% of people who use Kratom take it for Pain Relief, as an alternative to Rx drugs.
  • Unlike synthetic opioids, Kratom does not lower respiratory function.
  • Kratom is a partial agonist as it attaches to opioid receptors, but does not fully activate them.
